Chicagoans are unabashedly affectionate about many things: our sports teams, the lakefront, the skyline, and so on! But, we especially love our food! So, I thought I would use this post to talk about some ways you can indulge your tastebuds while giving back!

On July 24th, Epicurious.com, the foodie’s mothership, will make a stop in Chicago as part of its third annual “Wine. Dine. Donate.” event. Editor-In-Chief Tanya Steel will join MK Restaurant chef, Michael Kornick, and local pastry chef, Amy Sampson, as they prepare a farm-fresh meal (complete with wine). The event will be held at MK Restaurant (865 N. Franklin) and tickets are $125. Proceeds from the night will benefit America’s Second Harvest, the nation’s largest network of food banks. Visit epicurious.com for more information!

If you can’t make either of the two events listed above, you can always stop by The Signature Room on the 95th floor of the Hancock Building (875 N. Michigan Avenue). The Signature Room offers a monthly four-course dinner menu, the “Signature Selection”, and donates 10% of sales of the meal to various charities, such as The Pajama Program (Illinois Chapter) and Best Buddies of Illinois. The Signature Room can be pretty pricey so maybe save this one for a date or special occasion!
As more events come to my attention, I will be sure to list them! In the meantime, I hope this list helps point you in the right direction of some delicious eats!
