I was in Sephora last week browsing the Carol’s Daughter section, when I noticed that a portion of the proceeds from the Candy Paint lip glosses were supporting a nonprofit. Of course, after I made the purchase, I forgot which cause! But, thanks to the Internet, I found out that the proceeds are going towards the Lupus Foundation of America, the leading voluntary health organization dedicated to finding a cure for lupus.
Lisa Price, the founder of Carol’s Daughter, is leveraging her personal experience with lupus (it affected her mother) and using it to help spread awareness about the disease in African-American women. For more information on lupus, visit www.lupus.org. And to purchase the Candy Paint glosses (I have the Grown and Sexy – fourth from left above), visit carolsdaughter.com, sephora.com, or your local Sephora store!
