“Tue” Fabulous

21 04 2009

Last month, I discovered Polyvore while blog-surfing. The author had all of these great collages of fashion, beauty, celebs, and more. This immediately got my wheels spinning. How could I incorporate the sheer amazingness of Polyvore into my fabulous giving theme? Aha! I’ve decided to upgrade “Tue” Fabulous to my very own collage featured around one items with a charitable focus!

So, today’s item would be those lovely Carlos by Carlos Santana shoes in the bottom right corner. These leather sandals will probably become staples in your wardrobe. The T-Strap keeps it classic while the reptile texture brings the style into the modern day. You can grab these shoes on sale for $52.99 by clicking here. Carlos by Carlos Santana is a proud supporter of the Milagro Foundation, an organization benefitting underserved children in communities all around the world!

Piperlime Makes It Easy To Donate Your Shoes

25 02 2009

In talking to many of you, it’s very clear that you’re more than ready for spring to arrive. You’ve picked out new shoes or are planning to purchase some new pairs to usher in the warm temperatures and green grass. Well, as you buy new shoes, at some point you may have to think about what to do with your old ones. If you have a local shelter or thrift store, then by all means you can donate them there.

If you buy your shoes on Piperlime.com, they have a program where you can send them your old shoes within the same box.

“Hello Stiletto” Shoe Club

17 02 2009

“There was an old lady who lived in her Choos…”

That’s how the story starts in my head, and I’m sure that’s how it starts in some of your heads too! If you’re devoted to your shoe collection and are borderline obsessed, then you should look into joining the “Hello Stiletto” Shoe Club. No, this is not a drill.

The shoe clubs meet all over the country for evenings of mingling, shopping, and, most importantly, FOOTWEAR! This club encourages members to wear their most fabulous shoes to events, and strut down the pink carpet for a chance to win prizes. So, those hot pink T-strap pumps with the feathers? Yep, now you have TWO places to wear them 🙂

The best part of Hello Stiletto (other than the name) is that every now and then, the events have a charitable twist. Check out these two upcoming events:

Thursday, February 19th – Naples, FL

The Naples club will be celebrating vintage footwear and collecting new and gently used women/children’s shoes for the Naples Shelter for Abused Women and Children

Where: Fine Babka, European Bakery and Cafe (71 9th Street South)

When: 6:30-9:00p

For more information, please click here!

Friday, March 6th – Boston, MA

Genevieve Boston, and shoe designer, Kristina Kozak, partner with the Hello Stiletto Shoe Club for the 2nd annual “Glow and Behold Winter Enchanted Ball.” The “Shoe Ball” raises funds for the Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis

Where: Ritz-Carlton Boston Common (10 Avery Street)

When: 7:30p-12:00a

For more information, please click here!

Of course, these aren’t the only Shoe Club happenings. To find out when an event will be heading to your neck of the woods, or how to become a member, simply visit www.shoeclub.us!

Carlos Santana Shoes

Did you know that guitar legend, Carlos Santana, has his own line of women’s shoes? If so, did you know that 10% of all shoes sales benefit the Milagro Foundation, founded by Santana and his wife, Deborah?

The Milagro (which means “miracles” in Spanish) Foundation is a charitable foundation which supports “underprivileged and underserved” children in the arts, education, and health by granting individual organizations and programs targeted towards this population.

Please visit the website (www.milagrofoundation.org) for more information.
